Price History

This practical whetstone from Brusletto with 400/1000 grit is perfect for achieving extra sharpness and polishing of already sharp knives. A sharpening stone is the best method if you want to properly sharpen a steel knife, and this whetstone is no exception.

The stone has two sides: 400 and 1000 grit. This means it is a combined coarse and fine sharpening stone. The coarse side is used for initial sharpening, while the fine side provides a sharp and smooth edge. This is the whetstone we recommend for our outdoor and hunting knives.

Soak the whetstone in water for about 5 minutes before use, and place it on a flat and stable surface. The choice between coarse or fine sharpening depends on how dull the knife is.

Coarse sharpening (400 grit)
Used to repair nicks and damage in the blade edge. Hold the knife at an angle of 10–30 degrees and gently move the edge back and forth across the stone with light pressure until the desired sharpness is achieved.
Fine sharpening (1000 grit)
Used to give an extra sharp and refined finish to the edge. Apply light pressure and sharpen carefully. Regular maintenance is recommended, for example once a week during frequent use.

After sharpening, wipe the blade with a damp cloth or rinse it in water, then dry it thoroughly. Clean the whetstone with a soft brush and allow it to dry completely before storing.

Precautions

Use the entire surface of the stone for even wear.
Protect the whetstone from drops and impact.
Use of sharpening oil may provide even better results.
Store whetstone and knives out of reach of children.
