This blank is pre-shaped, which means it requires less machining before becoming a finished handle. The handle is also milled (with a central hole) for mounting the knife blade. The blank fits knife blades with a thickness of up to 2.2 mm.

The product image shows the blank assembled with a Jerven knife blade. The blade is not included. This product is designed to fit the bolster developed for the Jerven knife. The article number for the bolster is BO41300.

Curly birch (naturally stabilized) is a traditional and highly sought-after handle material that combines the natural beauty of wood with the strength and stability of modern stabilisation. The distinctive curly grain pattern, with its flowing structures and characteristic “eyes,” gives each blank a lively and unique appearance.

The colour is preserved in the wood’s natural tones, allowing the structure to stand out clearly without the use of artificial dyes. The result is an honest and timeless material that works equally well for both classic and modern knife designs, where an exclusive and natural look is desired.

The blank measures approximately 43 × 25 × 113 mm and provides excellent conditions for precise shaping of knife handles. The material is easy to work with and can be sanded and polished to a smooth, dense, and highly refined finish.

This is our own curly birch, used in several of our knife models. The blank is primarily supplied as raw material for handle production, but is also well suited for various types of wood carving.
